Firecracker Safety Guidelines
Celebrate Deepavali safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with local authority regulations.
Before Blasting Firecrackers
Simple, essential safety reminders for every family and celebration.
Adult Supervision
Children should use fireworks only under the direct supervision of responsible adults.
Keep Water or Sand Nearby
Always keep two buckets of clean water, dry sand, or a fire extinguisher within immediate reach.
Use Open Outdoor Areas
Burst crackers strictly in wide, open outdoor areas clear of vehicles, dry foliage, and buildings.
Keep Safe Distance
Step back immediately after lighting the fuse and maintain a minimum 5-meter safety buffer.
Do Not Relight Duds
Never attempt to relight a half-burnt or unexploded cracker. Wait 15 minutes and pour water over it.
Wear Cotton Clothes
Avoid loose synthetic, silk, or flowing clothes. Wear snug cotton garments and sturdy footwear.
Store Away from Heat
Keep unused fireworks in their original sealed cartons far from lamps, diyas, cooking stoves, or heat sources.
Use Long Safety Lighter
Use a long incense stick (agarbatti) or sparkler to light fuses. Never bend over fireworks while lighting.
Protect Pets & Animals
Animals have sensitive hearing. Keep pets indoors in a secure, quiet room and never light fireworks near them.
Avoid Sensitive Zones
Do not burst fireworks near hospitals, senior care centers, schools, fuel stations, or power transformers.
Follow Permitted Timings
Adhere to timings designated by local municipal and police authorities during festival days.
Safe Post-Burst Disposal
Douse all burnt residues with water and allow them to cool completely before discarding responsibly.
